One of the great things about the Chatou fair is meeting face to face with true professionals and experts of the trade. Patrick Carrière is known as being one of the world’s rare restorers of billiard tables. He trained as a cabinetmaker and then worked at Chevillotte , a company making billiard tables since 1860. Today, Patrick Carrière has an exhibition space near Bordeaux when he has around 40 billiard tables and is participating in the Chatou Fair for the second time. The great news, according to Patrick Carrière is that “people are reaching out to be more sociable and billiards and old games such as backgammon and chess are in demand”
